The Little Feet Company - Mission 


The Little Feet Company was created with the aim of improving the lives of the orphans and underprivileged children of Vietnam, in particular the central region surrounding the Da Nang province. The Little Feet Company strives to make a difference by focusing on three main areas these are:

We want are customers to see the benefit of their purchases, so we will be posting a bimonthly newsletter to update you all on what you and The Little Feet Company has achieved.

The Little Feet Company, will have one big project that we want to aim at achieving over a longer period of time, as well as contributing in partnership with the Global Volunteer Network Vietnam.

The Global Volunteer Network was the instrument that initial inspired the creation of The Little Feet Company. They are a volunteer organization that works with us at the centers in Da Nang as well as many other locations in Vietnam. They currently support over 1000 children in Vietnam to date. Foundation Lotus Child

Foundation Lotus Child is a non-profit organization raising money for the orphans, street children and neglected children of Vietnam.

Foundation Lotus Child was founded by Carrie Hesketh. Carrie first went to Vietnam in 2006 for two months with Global Volunteer Network. Her first posting was in Tam Ky, in the Quang Nam Province. It was here Carrie volunteered at,

  • Tam Ky Baby Orphanage
  • The Home of Affection (a shelter for street and neglected children)

The Charities aims are  to providing the children at these centers  with better health care, nutrition, education and making sure the children get a chance to enjoy their childhood. 

Carrie has held fundraising events in Australia and is currently establishing a not for profit restaurant in Hoi an town, Central Vietnam that will benefit the local people by providing vocational training and employment.

         Blue Dragon Children's Foundation

The Blue Dragon Children's Foundation aims at reaching out to kids in crisis in Vietnam. Their residential facilities and centers and programs gives the children and youths a new chance of life: The chance to have a home, an education and a happy stable life.

The Blue Dragon aims at breaking the poverty cycle by offering education, training and job opportunities to those who need it the most: Street children, child victims of child trafficking and the rural poor.

The Global Volunteer Network

The Little Feet Company works closely in Da Nang with The Global Volunteer Network, they provide exciting placements in Vietnam for volunteers to work and teach in schools, orphanages and Day centers.

As well as orphanages, volunteers share their time between a variety of placements including working with babies and children, and working with disabled children, as well as teaching English.

 

Da Nang

 GVN Vietnam work at two Day Care Centers (home for disabled children), two Baby Orphanages, one social support centre and one orphanage for street children. At these placements volunteers will teach English, arts, crafts, songs and sports and at the Baby Orphanages volunteers will clean, feed and play with the children.

Volunteers will work with staff to teach English at the orphanage placements as well as work as assistants at local language centers

Tam Ky Placements

In Tam Ky, 70 kilometers south of Da Nang, GVN work with three community organizations: The Home of Affection, the Tam Ky Baby Orphanage and Tam Ky Rehabilitation Center for Children. Volunteers and staff  teach English, arts & crafts and sports and will also take care of the children at the Orphanages and Rehabilitation Center. English teaching within the community is also part of this placement. Volunteers often teach at a local hospital as well as in a small beach village (Tam Thanh).

Tuy Hoa Placements

Tuy Hoa is the capital of Phu Yen province which is located 100 km north of Nha Trang and 400 km south of Da Nang. Here volunteers will work at a Home of Affection for orphans and street children, a social support center for baby orphans and children with disabilities, a rehabilitation school for children with disabilities two education centers for poor children at a Fishing Village.

In the orphanages and support centers there are many children who suffer from mental and physical disabilities. Qualified physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, behavioral therapists, play therapists, doctors, nurses, orthotist prosthetists, podiatrists and all people with a medical qualification are highly sought after in the Vietnam program.
